Following this advice will help your jewelry maintain its beauty for a long time, as we use an extra-thick layer of gold or the pieces are partially made of sterling silver. Sterling silver may darken over time, but it's easy to polish it again with a silver polishing cloth. Generally, gold-plated jewelry should not come into contact with water and should not be stored in very humid environments (such as the bathroom) to preserve its beauty for as long as possible. It's best to store your jewelry in the packaging provided. Hand sanitizer can discolor a gold ring in places, as the chemicals can react with the metals.
